The Annual Sports Day of Guru Nanak Foundation Public School (GNFPS) Patiala was celebrated, amidst great mirth, verve and camaraderie. Manjit Singh Brar (SP Investigation Patiala) was the chief guest and Harwant Kaur was the guest of honor  Harpreet Singh Dstrict Sports officer, Jasbir Singh ( Dera Baba Jassa Singh Parbandhak Committee) Partap Singh Director Guru Nanak Foundation.

Brar while inaugurating , the Sport extravaganza said “as Diwali is just around the corner, it’s a festival that signifies the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and hope over despair. However, in the recent years, extravagant celebrations have not only put a great strain on the environment, but have also put people’s health at stake.He guided the students to celebrate an Ecofriendly Diwali by saying no to crackers.” He also advised students and their parents to participate in sports activities.

The sports day started by the unfurling of the school flag and the declaration of the meet open by the Chief Guest marking the commencement of the sports Meet. It was followed by a spectacular, impressive and a well synchronized March Past by the four house Contingents. The most intriguing aspect embellishing the event was field and track displays. Senior wing student showed their sportsmanship by running sprints and relay races. Races for the parents of the students were also held which were enjoyed by them, Staff Race was also there. Teachers participated in the race enthusiastically .The chief Guest lauded the zest and vitality of the students.

To seek the blessings of the Almighty the cultural programme began with a Shabad followed by a wide variety of events like PT Aerobics, Gatka, National Integration, Bhangra Which were spectacular and enthralled the audience. Sanya an International Fencing player the pride of the institution was honored with a cash prize of 51000/- , a Panth Rattan Trophy and 100 % fee concession. National Players were given away cash prizes of Rs. 21000/-, 11000/-, 5100/- trophies and 50 % fee Concession respectively.

Tags of best Athlete both boys and girls were given to Stalyn and Jaskiran Kaur respectively Pragati house bagged the Best house trophy. The function culminated with full fervor zest and zeal.
