Nurses, celebrities and models walk the ramp to mark Nurses Day at Pracheen Kala Kendra , Mohali on Saturday. The program was organized by city based senior cardiologist and global chairman of Cardiomersion, Dr Deepak Puri.

The celebrities and models including Shailja, Miss India Beauty Queen, Dr Tetiana Kapranova ,model endocrinologist, Hemant Mehta, finalist Grasim Mr. India, Aryeman, Mr. Central India and best supporting actor Colours TV, Niharka Pahwa, Miss Punjab 2018 and Miss Eva India, Yashna Bawa, Miss India Beauty Queen, Dr Dimple Sharma, Mrs. Indian Pride of National Ravishing, Sam Rattan, model and Yashik Sarin, Miss North Indian Super Model took part in the fun-filled program.

During occasion, a session based on healthy lifestyle which is recommended to improve the health and productivity of employees working in critical areas was also organized.

Dr Puri who is also an executive director-cardiac sciences at Ivy Hospital Mohali said that nurses play a very important role in management of patients and their job is often demanding and stressful dealing with critical patients and doing night shifts.

All this has adverse effect on their health and increase their risk of lifestyle  diseases, he said .Medical studies have shown that those working in critical areas are more prone to physical and mental disorders including stress depression diabetes hypertension heart disease stroke and cancers, he asserted.

World Heart Federation recommends that there should be provision of 30 min recreational activities everyday at workplace and that would improve performance and reduce absenteeism by 30%, remarked Dr. Puri.
