Patiala-Under the mission ‘Tandarust Punjab’ the Regional Office, Punjab Pollution Control Board, Patiala in coordination with Traffic Police incharge Insp. Karnail Singh, District Patiala held 5 no. Nakkas at different locations in the District i.e. at tehsils Patiala, Rajpura, Patran, Nabha&Samana to check the installation of pressure horns with commercial/ public heavy vehicles and to check the installation of cracker sound emitting silencers with bullet motor-cycles.

Informing this environment engineer S.S. Matharu said that to provide the clean environment to the residents of the State of Punjab. As a step towards providing the clean environment in the State, Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh, launched this mission, so during this drive, different teams checked about total 200 no. of vehicles and about 15 bullet motor-cycles. Out of this, 23 no. of challans were issued at the spot to the vehicles equipped with pressure horns and 02 no.

Challans were issued to the owners of bullet motor-cycles which were equipped with cracker sound emitting silencers, he said. “Also, many pressure horns were got removed from the said commercial/ public heavy vehicles and the drivers of the said vehicles were made aware about the ban imposed by the Punjab Pollution Control Board on installation of pressure horns with the vehicles and cracker sound emitting silencers with the Bullet Motor Cycles”, informed Matharu.
