SP Singh Oberoi honours NTAS on Turning 18

Patiala –“Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust”, an eminent philanthropic organisation of the country, honoured noted “National Theatre Arts Society (NTAS)’ Patiala on turning 18th year of their Monthly Garden Theatre Movement. In a simple, but much affectionate function, held at S.D.B.C. Trust complex, the Managing Trustee Dr. S.P. Singh Oberoi an International philanthropist felicitated NTAS director Pran Sabharwal and presented a cheque of Rs. 5000 to him as a token of appreciation of NTAS’ efforts towards running Monthly Garden Theatre Movement regularly, irrespective of seasonal and financial odds.

Oberoi said “Artistes and Journalists sensitize people about social evils fearlessly, therefore deserve much respect and support of the Governments and public. He lauded NTAS’ president G.S. Kakkar, members and artists and especially vetern director duo Pran Sabharwal-Sunita Sabharwal and family for their relentless efforts to keep theatre and social service movement alive.

NTAS director Pran Sabharwal, fellow Punjabi University Theatre & Television department expressed gratitude to Oberoi, wife madam Maninder Kaur Oberoi and speakers for their love and patronage for NTAS and artists. He disclosed that Monthly Garden Theatre Movement first of its kind in India, launched under the patronage of Maharani Preneet Kaur in 2001 has completed 206 Monthly Garden Theatre performances.

Prominent among  the speakers and present personalities were Jassa Singh Sandhu, Dr. Daljeet Singh Gill, Dr. Amar Singh Azad, Dr. R. S. Atwal, Kuldeep Singh Grewal and Fatehjeet Singh Jolly and Ntasians P.C. Tiwari and Rajinder Verma.
