3 day international-national conference on Psychology starts at Punjabi university

Department of Psychology Punjabi University, Patiala is organizing the 56th National and 25th International Conference of Applied Psychology with the theme, “Enhancing Human Potential”.
The inaugural session of the three-day conference was held today which had Preneet Kaur, MP as the chief guest.
In her address she congratulated the Department for organizing this conference on psychological development during the trying times of COVID-19 when psychological support becomes more crucial. The Guest of Honour in inaugural function, Dr. Veerendra Mishra (Director, National Institute of Social Defense) highlighted the importance of actualizing human potential and need for skill development.
The event was taken forward by the keynote speaker Prof. Janak Pandey who spoke about the importance of psychology to face emerging challenges wherein he highlighted the importance of sustainable development and how one can achieve UNDP’s sustainable development goals.
The Head of Department of Psychology Dr. Mamta Sharma introduced the Department followed by the unveiling of the theme of the conference by Dr. Harprit Kaur. Dr. Damanjit extended a warm welcome to all the delegates.
IAAP Regional President Dr. Updesh & Secretary Dr. Novrattan Sharma also graced the event and congratulated the department for their efforts. They further encouraged and motivated the participating delegates to extend current research in the field of Applied Psychology.
This was followed by a vote of thanks by Dean Social Sciences, Dr. K.S. Bhangu.
Post lunch there were three parallel plenary sessions and five parallel scientific sessions held online which were presided by distinguished psychologists nationally and internationally.
