AIIMS Bathinda started plantation drive; campus to be pollution free-Director

On the occasion of World Environment Day, the department of Community and Family Medicine and members of the Ecoclub of All India institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bathinda organised a plantation drive in the campus which was inaugurated by the Executive Director of AIIMS Bathinda, Dr. Dinesh Kumar Singh by planting a sapling of Chakresia.

Dr. D K Singh said that this day is observed on June 5 of every year to remind people about the importance of nature and planting more trees A total of around 120 saplings (Pepal, Banyan, Neem etc.) were planted by combined efforts of Dr. Satish Gupta (Dean), Lt Col. Devendra Singh Rawat (Deputy Director Administration, Dr. Bhola Nath; Chairman, Horticulture, faculties, and nursing staffs of AIIMS Bathinda. Dr. Bhola Nath, the organizer of the event said that planting a tree is a lifelong investment.He further told that a ‘National Level Photography Competition’ among MBBS students was organised to create awareness among MBBS students to Mother Nature apart from plantation drive. Around 190 students participated from various Medical Colleges including new regional AIIMS across India. Jagdeep and  Chandrashekhar supported finance in organisation of the event.

AIIMS Bathinda started plantation drive; campus to be pollution free-Director .On this occasion, Faculty Association of AIIMS Bathinda (FAAB) in association with Malwa No.1 AgroFarmer Producer Company Limited Gifted Bicycles to the AIIMS Bathinda Campus as a part of Go Green initiative to make AIIMS campus pollution free. Director AIIMS Bathinda, Prof. (Dr D.K.Singh) appreciated this effort and advised allfaculty members and staff to use cycles more frequently to prevent lifestyle diseases.The event was attended by Prof. Satish Gupta (AMS), Prof. Lajya Devi Goyal, DrBhola Nath, Office bearers of FAAB along with other faculty members and staff ofAIIMS Bathinda.
