As per the instructions of PSPCL CMD A Venu Prasad, IAS & Director Distribution Er. D.I.P.S. Grewal, PSPCL has launched an immense campaign against the menace of theft of electricity in Punjab and achieving great success with excellent results.
Working on the directions continuous checking of connections is being carried out by the DS Circle Bathinda. Er. Jiwan Kansal, Deputy Chief Engineer Distribution Circle Bathinda of PSPCL disclosed that 24 no. special teams of Bathinda Circle carried out checking in the different locations of district Bathinda and Mansa.
Different teams have checked 1545 number connections of various categories of consumers, 107 cases of theft and unauthorized load were detected. A total of Rs. 26.60 lakh fine was imposed to these erring consumers. FIRs are also being lodged against the consumers found indulging in theft of electricity.

Chief Engineer, PSPCL has appealed to all its esteemed consumers to help PSPCL in controlling the menace of theft of electricity by providing information about theft of electricity. He added that anyone can provide information about theft of electricity on whatsapp no. 96461-75770. Moreover, electricity consumers of DS Circle Bathinda can also inform about theft of Electricity on Whatsapp no. 96461-14509. PSPCL assured its consumers that their identity will not be disclosed. He also appealed to all consumers to pay electricity bill in time to avoid disconnection.
