Bhakra Nangal Wheels & Strides-Cyclothon &Marathon on March 17

The District Olympic Association, Rupnagar is going to organize a “Bhakhra Nangal Wheel & Strides” a Cyclothan and Marathon in the District Rupnagar on March 17, 2019. The cash Prizes worth Rs. 30 Lakhs will be distributed amongst the participants.
Cyclothon is s long distance Run and Cycle ride called “Bhakhra Nangal Wheel & Strides” – a 120 km Tour to Bhakra Nangal, 70 KM –Celebrating 70 years of Bhakra Nangal and 30 Km-Fun Ride.
Marathon comprising of 21Km Half Marathon, 10Km The Champs and 5Km Fun Run of running races in the District Rupnagar.
International acclaimed Punjabi singer Gurdas Mann will give a live performance.
District Olympic Association will also give Dry Fit T shirt/ Jersey, Finisher Medal, Certificate , Timing Chip, Bib (Chest No.), Medical facilities , Individual Pictures, Masseur, Refreshments to all the participants.
Local, national and international athletes are expected to participate in the maiden edition of the event. Spokesperson of the District Olympic Association Rupnagar said that “the aim is to make this marathon an annual event which would take place every year and should attract thousand of participants including international athletes. The event wishes to get to a stage where it could be made into international brand with wide recognition amongst running and cycling enthusiasts and be counted among some of the world’s popular marathons and cyclothons”.
Eminent personalities and VVIPs of national and international repute are also expected to attend the event and District Olympic Association, Rupnagar is making all the arrangements and facilities with very high standard, quality, all necessary safety, security and emergency measures is kept in mind .
