BJP rewarded expulsion to its senior leader; awarded two others with general secretary post

Punjab BJP state president Ashwani Sharma has expelled his colleague, senior party leader and former BJP minister in SAD-BJP regime, Anil Joshi from BJP, for six years, for anti party activities.
Around three days ago, Ashwani Sharma issued a show cause notice to Anil Joshi, for anti party activities and gave two days to reply. But, today the party president expelled him from the BJP, for six years.
According to the notice issued by Dr Subash Sharma to Anil Joshi, Joshi had been making statements against the Union government, party’s central leadership and policies.Joshi did not give up his stubborn attitude of going against the party whereupon state BJP chief Ashwani Sharma on the recommendations of a disciplinary committee expelled him from the primary membership of the party for six years, the statement said.
Earlier, in a two-page reply to the show-cause notice, Joshi said he never spoke against the Centre’s farm laws and asked the state party chief if it is indiscipline to talk about farmers. Former Amritsar North MLA asserted that he always spoke about the party’s interests. I neither spoke against the Centre’s farm laws nor against central leaders, Joshi replied.
In another move, Punjab BJP President Ashwani Sharma has appointed Rajesh Bagga (from Jalandhar) and Dayal Singh Sodhi (from Bathinda) as general secretary of the state unit.
