Channi takes oath as CM; Randhawa, Soni as ministers

Charanjit Singh Channi , a Ramdasia Sikh dalit leader today took the oath in Punjabi to become the 27th chief minister of Punjab, in a simple ceremony.
For the first time Punjab gets two deputy chief ministers. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, MLA from Dera Baba Nanak and OP Soni MLA from Amritsar took the oath as minster.
The oath taking ceremony got delayed by around 15 minutes, as the dignitaries waited for Rahul Gandhi to join the oath taking ceremony. But Rahul Gandhi reached Raj Bhawan just after the conclusion of the ceremony and congratulated the newly elected chief minister and his two ministers
For today’s function Punjab governor allowed 40 persons for the oath taking ceremony of Charanjit Singh Channi and his two deputies.
Former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh didn’t come to attend the ceremony.
The newly designated CM will go to sectt. to officially take the charge . He will interact with the media at 12:30 pm and is expected that he may go and meet Capt Amarinder Singh, in the afternoon.
