Superintending Engineer distribution circle Ropar Er.Satwinder Singh Sehmbi said that on the directions of PSPCL CMD A. Venu Prasad, director distribution Er.DIPS Grewal and chief engineer distribution south zone Er.R.S.Saini a special drive has been launched in the state for recovery of payments of electricity dues from consumers .He disclosed that a special collection drive launched in Kharar, Anandpur Sahib, Ropar & Samrala divisions under Ropar circle on 28 and 29 August,2020.
During this drive about 1000 number consumers were approached and a sum of about Rs. 87 lacs has been recovered from the consumers.
Clear electricity pending dues or face consequences-Er Satwinder Singh.He said that 173 connections of defaulters consumers have been disconnected and defaulting amount is Rs 85 lacs. Since PSPCL is a commercial organization and it needs financial resources on day to day basis for providing reliable and uninterrupted power to the consumers.
Er.Satwinder Singh Sehmbi has also appealed the consumers of the ropar circle to deposit their electricity bills well in time to avoid the disconnection in case of default in making payment of electricity bills.
