Countdown for launching of Aam Admi Clinics begins; Special Chief Secretary reviews the arrangements

The countdown for launch of the Mann government’s flagship programme to revamp health services by offering Aam Admi Clinics to the people has begun, as officers in different parts of the state start to take stock of the infrastructural and medical facilities at the designated 75 clinics.

In this respect special chief secretary-cum-district-Incharge Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Ravneet Kaur (IAS) today visited ‘Aam Admi Clinic’ at Rahon, to ensure proper execution of the dream project of the Chief Minister.

Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa and Civil Surgeon Dr. Davinder Dhanda, while briefing the Special Chief Secretary about the arrangements and preparations said that Aam Admi Clinic is equipped with electricity supply, fitting of electrical equipment as well as setting up of doctor’s room, pharmacy and sample collection room as well as providing reception-cum-waiting area and toilet facilities for the patients.

Ravneet Kaur (IAS) said that the introduction of these clinics will be a big leap forward in the health sector of Punjab. She said that the common people will be provided with the best healthcare facilities at their doorstep at Aam Admi clinics by the Punjab government.

She said that these clinics will strengthen the primary healthcare system by providing hassle free access to various services including diagnosis of the disease and clinical tests. Patients will get quality treatment and these clinics would further help to strengthen referral management, she added.

The special Chief Secretary said that these clinics will provide health care to outdoor -patients by providing treatment for general ailments, first aid for injuries, dressing etc, adding that referral for specialized care and subsequent follow-up will also be done through these clinics. She said that focus will also be given on health education, information and awareness.

She said that required medicines will be made available in ‘Aam Admi Clinics’ besides ensuring consistent availability of diagnostic tests.

The district administration and health department are all set to formally launch the ‘Aam Admi Clinic’ on the historic occasion of the 75th anniversary of Independence Day on August 15, added the DC.

Among the officials present included SDM Nawanshahr Dr. Baljinder Singh Dhillon, SP (Investigation) Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Senior AAP Leader Lalit Mohan Pathak, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Rakesh Chandra, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Gitanjali Singh and Dr. Pratibha Verma.
