Court convict Aam Admi Party Punjab MLA in a criminal case

Dr Balbir Singh, also an eye surgeon who won the Patiala Rural seat on Aam Admi Party ticket, had charges framed against him in two cases of cheating and causing hurt that were registered against him in Rupnagar in 2011, is convicted by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Ropar , Ravi Inder Singh in a criminal case registered section 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) , 324 (Voluntarily causes hurt ), 325 (Punishment for voluntarily causing grievous hurt) ,506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) IPC.
A case was registered vide FIR no. 85 dated 13-6-2011 under sections 324/ 324/325/506/148/149 IPC with police station, Chamkaur saib, Ropar district against Dr Balbir Singh and his family and charges were framed against him and his family on 05-08-2017
The court pronounced the judgment, quantum of sentence and awarded three years imprisonment .
The court granted him bail
