Thapar Institute of engineering and technology (TIET), Patiala the premier Institute of Northern India and ranked among top Indian Institute in NIRF, Times Higher Education ranking has decided to change the entire criteria of admissions to Engineering. The recent postponement of JEE(Main)-2020 to September 1-6 has created a lot of uncertainty in the minds of prospective candidates and parents. Prof Prakash Gopalan, Director TIET told that the new alternate criteria to be followed for admission will certainly bring a relief to the student community aspiring to take admissions in Engineering.
Covid effect-Thapar institute revised criteria for this year engineering admissions. Under the new criteria, the admission shall be made on the merit of 10+2 marks. The JEE(Main) -2020 score has been given weightage while breaking the tie for students having equal marks at 10+2 level. Dr Gurbinder Singh, Registrar TIET has confirmed that the counselling will start from August 5 onwards and the entire admission process will end by 15 September. He further added that the new session will start in online mode in September.
