Covid grips admin block of Punjabi University; health department to take corona samples

After Punjabi university Financial officer (FO), superintendent in registrar office, along with others tested covid positive, an alarm bell has been sounded in the university campus.

As per available information, four persons were already tested covid positive in the administrative block 2, having registrar, financial officer’s office, dean academic affairs office, DPM office along with other administrative offices, in the said block.

“Today many officers, employees, who sits in the administrative building, got their corona sampling done. The results are expected by today evening or by morning and the number of corona positive patients may increase ” said an employee, on the condition of anonymity

But, taking a precautionary measures, the university health centre is going to organize a free corona sampling (RT-PCR), in association with the community health centre (CHC), Tripuri on March 17, 2021 from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon at Waris Bhawan Lawns.

The free sampling is confirmed by the SMO of the Bhai Ghaniya Health Centre, Punjabi University campus Patiala. She said, “this free corona sampling test is open for all the university staff and their family members. We can break the chain, if we act on time and detect the virus, in time.”

She said, “we had asked the university authorities, it’s the time to be alert, not to panic and got yourself tested for Corona, as early diagnosis and preventive measures is the best way to prevent the spread of the pandemic.”

When contacted the registrar of the university, Dr Devinder Pal singh Sidhu, as usual, he didn’t pick up the phone, which he is famous for.
