Curfew violators nabbed in Patiala; Police using Drones to cover the entire city

SSP Patiala Mandeep Singh Sidhu informed that from the day one Patiala police is fully committed to enforce curfew in order to implement the concept of social distancing. In the beginning people were made aware about the importance of socail distancing and self isolation. Further, enforcement is being done thorough Nakabandis, Patrolling parties, PCRs and human intelligence, . Sidhu added.
SSP said that a number of FIRs have been registered against violators. But now enhancing its capacity Patiala Police has started using technology in the form of Drones to cover the entire city and specifically the colonies from where reports of violations are coming.

Sidhu said that Late evening Using drones Patiala police has nabbed 16 people who were sitting together in open space without any valid reason. An FIR No 91 U/S 188 IPC PS Kotwali Patiala was registered and all the violators were arrested. Besides drones, CCTV cameras installed at various locations would be used to add more eyes to technological surveillance, he added.
SSP Sidhu said that Patiala police again appealed to the people to follow the social distancing norms. The slogan of ‘ stay home, stay safe, stay healthy ‘ is being highly advocated through various platforms. Police is using Facebook, twitter and you tube to convince, citizens of Patiala that police is outside for their saftey,working 24*7. He further said that moreover, it is fully prepared against the persons who unnecessarily go outside and Violate curfew provisions. Use of drones has enhanced its surveillance capacity, he added.
