Equestrian event at National Livestock Championship

As part of 10th Livestock Championship and Exop 2017 organized by Punjab Government Department of Animal Husbandry equestrian events held at Polo ground here evoked great response.           

Little champs of Patiala Zorawar Singh Kohli and Simone Kohli from Polo and Riding Club won 1st and 2nd prize consecutively. Zorawar dressed in a dashing Punjab Police attire, dressed as SSP and Simone dressed as Cinderella princess and the 3rd prize we won by Chandigarh riders club.

Jashandeep Cheema a student of Yadvindra Public School , Patiala displayed his acumen in riding skills and excelled at various events competing with adult riders. In show jumping normal(junior/ young riders category), Jashandeep Cheema came first. Sherjang Singh of Partap Stables, Chandigarh was second and Vijaypal Singh and Nishanbir Singh of Kirpal Sagar Academy, Rahon were bracketed at 3rd position.

In show jumping normal (Children) event Jashandeep Cheema was first ,Pritam Singh of Kirpal Sagar Academy Rahon was second and Priyanshu of same academy was on 3rd position.

In show jumping normal (open), Sukhpreet Singh of Punjab Police was first, Vijaypal Singh of Kirpal Sagar Academy, Rahon was second and Jashandeep Cheema, Nishanbir Singh and Gurtej Singh won 3rd prize bracketed.

In medley race, which is a team event and includes polo bending, show jumping and tent pegging, Punjab Police team won the top honors and the team that came 2nd included Jashandeep Cheema, Lakhwinder Singh and Simranjit Singh.

Divulging this information Dr Amarjit Singh Director Animal Husbandry Punjab said that Col. Sarpartap Singh and Satpal Singh Bhangu SP retired and an international rider were the judges for these equestrian events and gold silver and bronze medals were given to1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders respectively.
