“Once a crminal is always a criminal’ this quote seems to be fit for Dipesh Grover, who has been arrested red handed by Punjab state excise department, for running illegal distillery , in Rajpura.

The raid was conducted by the excise department officials under the supervision of its additional commissioner Navdeep Bhinder and joint excise commissioner Naresh Dubey, AIG excise and taxation APS Ghumman, SP Prithpal singh, DETC Patiala zone Rajpal singh Khaira.

As per raiding party of excise department “ state excise commissioner Rajat Aggarwal IAS got a secret information about the running of an illegal distillery , on Patiala-Rajpura byepass road, opposite Scholar public School. The department on the basis of human intelligence, GPS today raided an abundant premises and found the illegal distillery in running condition.”

As per the excise officials, the apprehended Dipesh Grover along with another person, from the spot, along with machinery, raw material, empty bottles, caps, holograms, tanker filled with ENA, 1000 liters of blend,43 cases of illegal Country Made Liquor etc from the spot.

As per excise officials Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA) is the primary raw material for making alcoholic beverages. … It is derived from different sources — sugarcane molasses and grains — and is used in the production of alcoholic beverages

“Deepesh Grover was earlier arrested for committing the same crime-running an illegal distillery in Ghanour ,in the lockdown period. But he got bail and started this illegal distillery around 10-12 days back. “

The accused were bottling liquor in Rasila Santra, bottles, which are popular brands in the region.

At that time, police investigation revealed that “Dipesh went to Uttar Pradesh to meet professional bootleggers and bought machinery for turning ENL (extra neutral alcohol) into fake branded liquor. He also brought labour to run the distillery after demand for cheap liquor increased in Ghanaur.”

Deputy Excise Commissioner, Patiala Zone, Rajpal Singh Khaira added that the case under relevant sections of excise department, for printing illegal labels, holograms, caps is going to registered at local Rajpura police station.

Assistant Commissioner, Excise Inderjit Singh Nagpal, Excise Officer Patiala Harjot Singh and Inspector Excise Lakhmir Singh were also present there.
