Faux pas by Punjab health minister forced govt to issue clarification on Aam Admi Clinic numbers

Today, in the day, information is shared by Punjab health minister Chetan Singh Jouramajra on the numbers of Aam admi Clinics to be inaugurated by Punjab chief minister on August 15 from 75 to 100 for the first phase.

As per the statement issued ,” in furtherance of the dynamic initiative of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government to dedicate Aam Aadmi Clinics to the people of PUnjab on this Independence Day, the number has been now been increased to 100 for the first phase.”

This statement of the health minister created furor in the government circle, as the chief minister had already declared about the numbers of aam admi clinics in Punjab dedicating 75 clinics to the 75th year of Indian Independence.

Faux pas by Punjab health minister forced govt to issue clarification on Aam Admi Clinic numbers by evening, the government again issue a revised statement, “ in furtherance of the dynamic initiative of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government to dedicate Aam Aadmi Clinics to the people on 75 Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, 75 such clinics would be operationalized during the first Phase.”

The state government press note cited this as a proof of the wholehearted commitment of the State Government to ensure top notch healthcare facilities to the common man, the Health Minister Chetan Singh Jouramajra averred that the Health Department is all set for the launch of this flagship scheme and would leave no stone unturned to ensure availability of requisite staff and other paraphernalia for the smooth and hassle free running of these clinics.

Terming the initiative as a major shot in the arm for health infra in Punjab, the Health Minister disclosed that under the “Amrit Mahautsav” of the Independence Day, the Aam Aadmi Clinics would be established in all 117 Assembly Constituencies of the state of Punjab.

The Minister further said with the establishment of these Clinics, the lower and middle classes would get all health benefits at their doorsteps on one hand ; while on the other hand, it would also help to reduce unnecessary crowding in hospitals. “The State Government stands fully committed to improving the state’s healthcare infrastructure and providing quality healthcare services to its citizens in line with its ideology of ensuring a robust and healthy Punjab”, said Jouramajra.

These clinics have been established keeping in mind that health care is the right of every person in the state. With this facility, every gender and age group in the state would get health services without having to worry about their income. Now, there would be no need to go to big hospitals for the treatment of minor diseases, added the Minister.
