Stressing on the need to be fit, ‘Fit India Movement’ programme was launched by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under this movement, various fitness activities were conducted  enthusiastically at Police DAV Public School .

Students were informed about various Yog Asans along with their benefits. Students of class 6th A1 shared  useful information on healthy food and it’s nutritive values. On the occasion of Children’s Day, various events such as poster making, debate and sports events were conducted. Yogita Of class 10th spoke wonderfully on the importance of this day. Tiny tots of the school showcased  a fabulous dance performance. On the occasion of World diabetes day , children were given the awareness about the harmful effects and symptoms of this disease by Avneet of class 8thA1.Under the headship of ‘Buddy programme ‘ students of class 8th A presented one short skit in order to create awareness regarding the ill effects of taking drugs.

School Principal Meena Thapar said, ” Fit India movement started at Police DAV Public School Patiala on Children’s Day” She extended  her heartiest congratulations to the school children on Children’s Day.She complemented the efforts of the Zinnia house team and the concerned students for the beautiful performance. She also inspired them to take nutritious food and stay away from  drugs for leading healthy life.

Fit India Movement

Fit India Movement is a nation-wide movement in India to encourage people to remain healthy and fit by including physical activities and sports in their daily lives. It was launched by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi at Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi on 29 August 2019.
