Geography department of Mata Gujri College organizes public lecture on Chiranjeevi Development

Department of Geography of Mata Gujri College organized online public lecture on the subject ‘Chiranjeevi Development’ in which students were informed about the conservation of nature and new possibilities in this field. The keynote speaker in this lecture was Dr. Deepak Kumar (Centre for Environmental Law, Central University, Bathinda). He said that only if the new generation will be sympathetic towards their soil and conservation then a better tomorrow can be expected for the coming generations.
Talking to the students on the occasion, Dr. Deepak Kumar apprised the students of the importance of sustainable development as well as the role of sustainable development policies and explained how green development can be achieved by reducing energy consumption at the individual level.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Principal Dr. Kashmir Singh said that it is the need of the hour for the students to be environment friendly and we need to pay close attention to this. Admiring the efforts of the Geography Department, Dr. Kashmir Singh said that the green development model has proved to be a boon for the developing countries and now is the time for the new generation to think positively towards the environment.
Prof. Anupreet Singh Tiwana (Head of the Department of Geography) while presenting the vote of thanks, said that we need to follow the path shown by Gurbani so that the new generation can connect with nature. Students, environmentalists and thinkers were present in large numbers during the lecture. Prof. Navdeep Kaur and Prof. Talwinder Singh played an important role in organizing this public lecture.
