Honour for Architecture Prof of MRSPTU-Breastfeeding poster selected for statewide campaign

A poster designed by Dr. Jatinder Kaur, Professor in Architecture Department of Giani Zail Singh School of Architecture and Planning, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda has been selected by the Government of Uttrakhand for its state-wide campaign related to benefits of breastfeeding.
The poster has been designed so as to create Awareness and convey Benefits of Breastfeeding to the society. The Poster has been designed in Hindi language and the slogans have been formulated in poetic and rhyming words so that they are easy to comprehend and reach out to majority of rural, semi-urban and urban population.
Mother’s milk is the first gift by a mother to her newborn. It is the healthiest form of milk for the baby which contains the right amount of fats, sugar, water, minerals, proteins, strong immunity that ensures complete physical and mental growth of the child and protects him from respiratory infections and diarrhoeal diseases.
These slogans can be used effectively in Nukkad Naataks (Street Plays), public forums (panchayats), health system network (ASHA workers) and Aanganwaadi kendras etc. The graphical representations are simple, colourful, self explanatory and easily understood by even an illiterate person.
The Title of the poster is short and conveys a strong message of Breastfeeding is lifesaving which relates to the main theme of MAA Programme – Importance and Promotion of Breastfeeding.
“MAA-Mother’s Absolute Affection’’ is a nationwide programme launched in an attempt to bring focus on promotion of breastfeeding and its benefits. The Timeline of breastfeeding as given in MAA Programme have been shown through circles of increasing sizes signifying the growth of an infant through a toddler to a child. The related visuals of growth have been given in the centre of each circle.
The color scheme is based on Tints, Shades and Tones of Primary and Secondary colors. The dominant color is Red which depicts happiness, celebration and festivity.
The Green colors depict growth and prosperity and the Yellow and Orange colors depict warmth, while the Blue color has been taken to depict serenity and tranquillity.
Prof. Ripu Daman Singh, Head of Architecture Department expressed pleasure at the success of the faculty member in an event concerning important social message. He informed that Dr. Jatinder Kaur has been participating and winning awards in various national and zonal level competitions related to logo and poster design.
Dr. Savina Bansal, Dean, Academics Affairs of the University and Campus Director of GZSCCET, Dr. Ashish Baldi, Registrar of the University and Dr. Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor of MRSPTU, Bathinda congratulated the professor and appreciated her efforts for a great cause.
