How to waste tax payers money, anyone can take a guidance from improvement trust Patiala. As, it seems that  trust believes in making buildings, least interested in selling and wasting tax payers money.

Once again Improvement Trust Patiala fails to sell its commercial, residential properties in an e-auction that took place on September 1, 2021. Trust has already spend crores of rupees on them and now fails to sell these properties.

Improvement Trust Patiala has selected both commercial and residential for latest auctioning. The commercial properties were at Mid Town plaza, Dharampura bazaar, transport nagar, chotti baradari scheme, opposite hotel Eqbal Inn on Patiala Chandigarh road, , city centre scheme, satiya enclave and residential properties at Maharaja Narendra Singh enclave, Maharaja Yadwindra enclave, SST Nagar.

“Due to slump in the real estate market, Covid pandemic, improvement trust Patiala was able to sell 11 properties only, in this auction. But we will again do the auction for rest of the unsold properties” said executive officer of the improvement trust Patiala Rajesh Chaudhary.

Improvement trust Patiala inefficiency comes to fore; fails to sell its properties in 16 years . Mid town plaza scheme has become a white elephant for improvement trust Patiala, as the trust failed to act timely.  Apparently, huge amount was spent on the construction of Mid Town Plaza at Dharampura Bazaar. Trust constructed the mid town plaza in April 2005 and was inaugurated by Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and Member of Parliament Preneet Kaur. Trust fails to sell its prime property even after 16 years that now stands ignored and is in shambles.

The multi-storey building has many commercial units (shops) along with an underground parking and lifts all of which are dysfunctional and have withered away with the passage of time. The building is now dilapidated while some part of it is misused by those indulging in gambling and consuming drugs and alcohol.
