Today hundreds of Income Tax officials started a survey raid at Patiala based famous sweet shop and Restaurant Gopal’s. These Income Tax officials started their survey raid early in the morning. They are investigating the account details of Gopal’s. This is not the first time that Income Tax officials raided Gopal’s Sweet, earlier also they had done the survey raid at Gopal’s. Income Tax Officials from outside Patiala conducted this survey raid simultaneously at its premises, factory, outlets.
Gopal’s is one of the leading sweet shop of Patiala and Tricity. Gopal’s was born in the enterprising thought of Hargopal Singh when the first outlet took shape at Fountain Chowk (Phuwara Chowk) in Patiala. Over the years, Gopal Sweets spread in Patiala and slowly it wafted through the entire region. In the year 1999 Gopal started second outlet at the Leela Bhawan the first self-service multi-cuisine restaurant. In 2005, Gopal’s opened its first outlet in Sector 8 of the City Beautiful, at the downtown Sector 35 as well, an exclusive wedding outlet at Panchkula in 2005. Gopal’s has also tie-ups with caterers and select hotels for supply of sweets and milk products.The production of the Gopal’s chain is handled from Patiala, while the sales department operates from Chandigarh.
