Independence Celebrated by Khalsa College Patiala
Patiala- School of Commerce and Management, P.G. Department of Computer and N.S.S. Department of Khalsa College Patiala celebrated 72nd Independence Day today in the department. Addressing the students on this occasion Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal Khalsa College discussed the importance of freedom in present day India and urged students to value it and preserve it.
Students present at the occasion sang National Anthem and freedom songs. Students of M. Com. presented a short play based on social values. Chart and sketch making competition for under graduate classes was also organised. The theme of the competition was life of freedom fighters. The students were also shown the movie ‘Chaar Sahibzaade’ on this occasion.
Dr. Jasleen Kaur, Head of the department also addressed the students and encouraged them to adopt moral and ethical path to lead their lives. She emphasized the importance of positive and constructive thinking for students in order to fulfil their dreams.
Prof. Sukhmeen Kaur, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Computonics Club motivated students to make greeting cards on Independence Day and posters on various freedom fighters.
On this occasion the N.S.S. Department of this college, while celebrating the cleanliness fortnight prompted the students to take oath regarding cleanliness under the able guidance of Prof. Sapna.
