INDO-PAK 1971 War Golden Jubilee Celebrations by War Veterans

On behalf of Raja Malvinder Singh, veterans of Patiala and 1 Armoured Division, the Golden Jubilee of one of the most intense Indo-Pak 1971 war was presented on Friday, December 3rd, 2021 at Capt Amarinder Singh Auditorium of Yadavindra Public School, Patiala for the school children.
The Indo- Pak 1971 war was a 13-day intense battle which ended with a decisive win for India. December 3rd marks the Golden Jubilee of this battle. Around 250 students from 5 different schools including Yadavindra Public School, Patiala, Yadavindra Public School, Mohali, Punjab Public School, Nabha, AFPI, MBAFPI participated and attended this prestigious event, which was anchored by Brig DS Grerwal (Retd) and co-ordinated by Maj Gen Sanjiv Varma(Retd),VSM.
The event commenced with the opening remarks by Lt Gen Chetinder Singh (Retd), PVSM,AVSM. Thereafter, a short movie was screened to give the highlights of the war. The students prepared highly informative slides on different battles fought by our brave men and various interesting aspects of defence forces like Battle of Basantar, Battle of Gangasagar (by Col AK Singh, CO 14 GUARDS), Race for Dhaka, Air and Naval aspects. The summing up of the proceedings was done by Maj Gen BS Grewal(Retd). The auditorium reverberated with the saga of the brave men and their sacrifices.
The students were then provided an opportunity to visit the Firing Range at Dhablan, where they were demonstrated about some tacticalmanoeuvre by the 1 Armoured Division.
The whole show was carried out to enlighten and inspire the young generation about the tactics of the war and Indian Defence forces. “We have felt the chill in our spine knowing about the hardships of the war and we respect and are inspired by our tough men who are guarding our borders”, expressed one of the students.
