Inter Commando Battalion Athletics and Sports Meet 2017 commenced on 24-11-2017. The two day event was declared open by Dr. Jitendra Jain, IPS, Inpector General of Police, Commando, Punjab, Bahadurgarh, Partiala.
Pritpal Singh Thind, PPS, Commandant, 1st Commando Battalion; Lakhwinderpal Singh Khaira, PPS, Commandant, 5th Commando Battalion; Satvir Singh Athwal, PPS, Superintendent of Police, Commando; Harpal Singh, PPS, Asst. Commandant, 2nd Commando Battalion and Parminder Singh Bath, PPS, DSP, 1st Commando Battalion were also present on the occasion.
An impressive cultural programme followed the March Past by the teams. Players from five Commando Battalions and Commando Training Centre are competing in various sports and athletic events to prove their mettle.
On the opening day, Sehajpreet Singh won 200 meters, Kuldeep Singh won 400 meters, Harpreet Singh won 800 meters and Gujinder Singh won 1500 meters athletic events. Manjeet Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Gurtej Singh and Navjeet Singh won 4×100 meters relay athletics event. Harmanpreet Singh stood winner in Long Jump.
The Closing Ceremony of the sports event is scheduled to be held on 25-11-2017 and Sh. S.K. Kalia, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Commando, Punjab will be the Chief Guest.
