Finally, the slow response to Capt Amarinder Singh, Punjab Lok Congress president’s election campaign in his own home town Patiala, forces his wife Preneet Kaur to lead the fight from the front.
Capt Amarinder Singh, who left the congress and made his own party-Punjab Lok Congress, is not getting the response from the residents of his own constituency-Patiala urban. His election meetings, rallies in Patiala are getting lukewarm response from the residents.
This forces his wife member parliament Preneet kaur to finally take the driver seat and yesterday she openly started campaigning for him against her (Congress) party wish.Capt Amarinder Singh, is contesting as a candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party-Punjab Lok Congress combine.
Preneet Kaur had been missing from the poll scene for some time, and her daughter Jai Inder Kaur was leading the campaigning for his father Capt Amarinder Singh. But, she is not getting support from the residents, which forces Preneet Kaur to come openly to campaign for his husband, as the family has its reputation at stake in a segment that has stood by them for more than two decades.
Preneet Kaur who had been keeping a low profile after Amarinder Singh’s exit as Punjab chief minister in September last year, also called upon the public to attend Union home minister and BJP leader Amit Shah’s rally on Sunday at Veer Haqiat Rai ground, Patiala.
Is lukewarm response to Capt’s campaigning forces Preneet Kaur to revolt? May join BJP . Speculations are rife that she may also joins Capt Amarinder Singh on stage and may join the saffron party in the presence of Amit Shah or at prime minister Narendra Modi’s rally in coming days in Punjab.
Congress Punjab incharge Harish Chaudhary had already issued a show cause notice to her before the no confidence motion was moved against Patiala mayor Sanjeev Sharma Bittu by MCs of Patiala congress to explain her stand.
Preneet held a series of ‘nukkad’ meetings organised by the BJP, which is leading the campaign for Amarinder who is contesting from Patiala Urban. Flanked by BJP Leaders she sought votes for her husband, citing her family’s personal relationship with the Royal City residents.
