A team of Sikh volunteers of Khalsa Aid  came forward to clean up Church, Temple in flood affected Kerala in addition to to prepare

Guru ka Langar(community kitchen) and serve over 15,000 meals a day in flood-hit Kerala.

The church premises was filled with slush from the floodwaters, making it inaccessible to the public. The cleanup, which took two days to complete, devotees were able to offer their prayers.

A Sikh volunteer of Khalsa Aid from Punjab said, “It took us two days to clean the whole church. We completed the work and it felt very satisfying when people were able to do their prayers in the church.

It was a great moment for us when we see a smiling faces of our brethren who offered their prayers after the clean up. A message of humanity and communal harmony was given by our volunteers in these testing times for Kerala.”

Sikh volunteers from Khalsa Aid are also cleaned a temple that has become inaccessible for Onam festivities. A Khalsa Aid volunteer Gurpreet Singh said, “A temple worker came to us when we cleaning the Church . He had a photograph in hand. Our local translator told us that he needed help in cleaning a temple. The man broke down and told us that people were unable to access the temple on Onam. We told him we will help them as soon as possible” .The entire courtyard of the temple was covered in thick layers of silt and mud and we cleared it.
