“Khalistan” banner found tied outside District Administrative Complex

A big banner with word ‘Khalistan’ written on it,was found tied with trees outside the District Administrative Complex Rupnagar here.
The banner was noticed this morning and was removed by the police.
The appearance of such a banner has raised a serious question mark over the security of the District Administrative Complex which houses the offices of senior superintendent of police(SSP) and deputy commissioner (DC) and adjoining judicial courts complex .
Rupnagar SSP Dr.Sandeep Garg said that it appeared that the banner was tied late night.He said that police were investigating the matter.
In a similar incident in 2020, a DAY ahead of Independence Day, two men breached security and entered the district administrative complex (deputy commissioner’s office building) in Moga, raised a ‘Khalistan flag’ on the terrace. The incident made headlines after a video of what they did was widely circulated on the social media.
Later the accused were arrested.
