Khalsa College Patiala celebrated its 59th Foundation Day

Patiala-Khalsa College, Patiala celebrated 59th Foundation Day in the form of “Ardaas Diwas”. After Kirtan, the Ardaas was performed for the development and progress of college. Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal of the college addressed the students and teachers on this occasion and remembered the founders Dr. Ganda Singh and Padam Shri Dr. Khushdeva Singh.

He said that he feels proud of the achievements of the college and more dedication is needed to fulfil the dreams of the founders of the college so that the college can rise to the global level. He added that the profession of teaching is a sacred one that aims to teach not only the curriculum but also to impart additional knowledge regarding global affairs. The overall personality of the students needs to be developed for constructing a healthy society. Dr. Ubha expressed his happiness over the increase in number of students admitted every session which is the result of hard work done by teachers.

Dr. Gurmeet Singh Sidhu, Professor and Head, Department of Guru Gobind Singh Dharam Adhyean, Punjabi University, Patiala was present as a special guest during this occasion. He shared his views on the concept of education from the aspect of Gurmat doctrine. He said that it is very important for a student as well as a teacher to introspect and do more efforts for bringing positive results in their work.

Prof. Sukhmohan Kaur, Convener, Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle thanked everyone. The stage was conducted by Dr. Gurveer Singh, Head, Department of Religion. All the teaching and non-teaching staff members and students were present on this occasion.
