Khalsa College Patiala organized Health Checkup Camp for its faculty

A health camp regarding the Bone Mineral Density checkup was organized by the dispensary committee of Khalsa College Patiala. This camp was dedicated to the celebration of “550 years of of Prakash Purab” of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, following his teaching “Health is Wealth”. Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal of the college while welcoming the company executive and Dr Ayush Jain, expressed his views about the importance of healthy habits in our daily life. He stressed upon the balanced intake of food. Dr. Jasleen Kaur Deputy Principal of the college while talking about the women health, stressed upon the calcium intake by females above 35 years of age.
Dinesh Kumar Sharma, Business Executive of “Torrent Pharma” temporarily installed the bone density measurement machine. He shared his views that this BMD machine has a capability for measuring the bone density from 0 to -4. 0 to -1 comes under the condition of good bone density. -1 to -2 categorised as fair bone density and below -2 is called Osteoporosis. Dr Ayush Jain from Rajindra Hospital Patiala threw light on the causes of diseases such as Osteopenia and Osteoporosis. Under the supervision of Prof. Jatindra Kaur, Convener College Dispensary Committee, all faculty members of the college participated whole heartedly in this program. Those who are suffering from disorders were also provided with medicines and some exercises were also suggested for better bone health.
