The Punjab Government today issued transfer and posting order of one IPS officer in the state. Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Punjab government said that Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh has been transferred and posted as Inspector General of Police, Organised Crime control Unit (OCCU)) Punjab with additional charge of IG, Counter Intelligence, Amritsar on administrative grounds with immediate effect.
Earlier on April,9 following the directions of the Election Commission the Punjab government posted Kunwar Vijay Pratap as inspector general of counter intelligence (Amritsar),or “violating” the model code of conduct.He was transferred on a complaint filed by Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) from SAD leader and Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Gujral against the IPS officer for giving a “politically motivated” interview to a TV channel on March 18- 19.
IG Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh was a member of the special investigation team (SIT) probing the 2015 Bhehbal Kalan police firing incidents..The SAD had filed a complaint against the IPS officer, alleging he was working at the behest of the Congress to target Akalis.
