Local bodies minister son defying government guidelines

“After taking the reins of Punjab, chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh on April, 2017 stressed on curtailing the VIP culture with in the party. As per the orders issued at that time, the CM aimed at building a stronger connect between the government and the people by removing the VIP culture barriers.”
But it seems that these orders of Punjab CM are not applicable for Punjab local bodies minister and senior congress leader Brahm Mohindra’s son Mohit Mohindra. Mohit Mohindra has no government authority, not elected as public representative but he is now making his political carrier by inaugurating, laying foundation stone of projects in Patiala rural constituency, with plaques mentioning his name, along with his father’s name., a clear violations of government rules.
Mohit Mohindra holds no government office, position,he is not a government servant ,he is general secretary of Punjab youth congress, only, but he is doing all the government work -inaugurating, laying foundation stone etc on his father’s behalf.He is even interfering in the working of government departments associated with the development works.He is clearly violating the government rules for his own benefits.
“In most of the development works in Sidhuwal, Bakshiwal , Vikas Nagar along with other areas of Patiala rural areas, the project plaques have Mohit Mohindra’s name” said Vikas Nagar sarpanch Tara Dutt.
Dutt further said that “Mohit Mohindra is a general secretary of the Punjab Youth Congress and a son of local bodies minister Brahm Mohindra. I know he is not a government functionary .But we had enquired from our Panchayat secretary Amarajit and he said to write Mohit Mohindra name on inaugural/ foundation stone plaque, as everyone is doing this”.
When contacted the Panchayat secretary Amarjit, first he didn’t pick up the phone and later switched off his phone.
When contacted block development and panchayat officer Patiala Gurinder Singh Tung, he said” no such matter came to my knowledge. Some other departments are also release grants for the village development. They might have installed the plaques. ”
Amarinder Singh Bazaz, former Mayor of Patiala Municipal Corporation said “the father –son (Brahm Mohindra and Mohit Mohindra) duo has made a mockery of the democratic setup of our motherland. Local bodies’ minister is himself promoting the dynasty politics. To promote his son, the minister bifurcated the area, development works of Patiala Municipal Corporation and handed over the 28 wards of Patiala rural constituency, to the defunct Improvement Trust, Patiala and all the public grievances are addressed by the de facto government ie Mohit Mohindra the son of local bodies minister. All the development works started at the time of the previous govt. are still pending and no new project has been awarded to the constituency. People are fed up with this dispensation”
Mohit Mohindra didn’t respond to the repeated telephone calls, text message. When contacted at his residence, the operator said, ”Mohit j is busy right now, his mobile is with me. I’ll convey the message and will call you back.” But no call is received, till the filling of the story.
Mohit Mohindra is now a day’s active in nurturing his father Brahm Mohindra’s Patiala rural constituency. Patiala rural constituency has 28 wards of the municipal corporation, areas of urban estate Patiala, Punjabi University and 45 villages around the Patiala city.
