Lohri celebrated with zeal at Scholar Fields Public School

Lohri the festival which ushers in the joyous spring and bids adieu to the hard winter, was celebrated at Scholar Fields Public School, Patiala with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. The mood on the campus was upbeat and the students were totally absorbed in the festive spirit of Lohri.

A special assembly was conducted in which the students from Junior and Senior wing participated. The students and teachers sang songs immersed in rich cultural folklore of Punjab. The Principal of the school Bindu Kohli told the significance of the festival that Lohri is the harvest festival of Punjab, famously known as the bread basket state of India.

After that sacred bonfire was lit by the Management Committee and prayed for the well being of all. Students were mesmerizing in traditional dresses and performed the traditional dances of Punjab, ‘Giddha’ and ‘Bhangra’. Management Committee extended their wishes to all. At the end groundnuts and sweets were distributed among students and school faculty.

“In order to achieve the set objective and facilitate the caterpillar-to-butterfly transformation of the child, we proved him an environment conducive to effortless and spontaneous learning and balanced growth of his overall personality’ said the management committee spokesperson on celebrating Lohri festival is school premises.
