MNSS, RAI bags first ever IPSC SIX-A-SIDE cricket tournament trophy

Motilal Nehru School of Sports(MNSS), Rai defeated Yadavindra Public School(YPS), Patiala by 6 wickets to clinch the first ever All India IPSC Six-a-Side Cricket Boys(U-17) tournament trophy. 8 teams of India’s leading public schools participated in this tournament.

YPS won the toss and elected to bat first. YPS boys scored 40 runs in 5 overs at the loss of 5 wickets. In reply, MNSS boys showed a scintillating performance and chased the score easily. Alok Kumar (20 runs) and Sachin Sudhashankar (16 runs) sent YPS bowlers on a leather hunt and finished the game in just 3.2 overs. MNSS, Rai won the match by 6 wickets.

In the hardliner match between YPS, Mohali and Modern School, New Delhi, YPS, Mohali secured 3rd position in the tournament by 6 wickets. Modern School boys could only play 4.1 overs as they lost all the 6 wickets at the score of 43 runs. YPS, Mohali team bagged the golden opportunity and won the match in just 4 overs.

The Deputy Headmistress of YPS, Patiala, Nishi Bhatnagar gave away the trophy and medals to the team members and congratulated the winning team for wonderful performance.
