Modern School presents prestigious Vijay Rattan Awards

Modern Senior Secondary School, Patiala, celebrated its annual prize distribution by presenting the prestigious Vijay Rattan award to 19 students onย Saturday, 18 August 2018. The Vijay Rattan is the highest student award in the school, conferred for exceptional performance in any field of student endeavor.
The award was presented in honor of the founder, Mohan Singh, and this year, 14 students who achieved an overall average score above 90% in their CBSE Board exams received the Vijay Rattan for excellence in academics, whilst 5 students, each of whom brought laurels to the school by winning medals at national level sports championships, were presented the award for excellence in sports.
The award ceremony was a grand function with many alumni and esteemed personalities of Patiala attending the ceremony. The medals were presented by the President of Modern School, Jujhar Singh and senior alumni, K. K. Sharma, Chairman PRTC Punjab, Sanjeev Garg, Designated Information Commissioner, Punjab, Ashutosh Narula, Principal, Laxmibai Dental College,H. P. S. Lamba, Managing Director, Cheers Food & Beverages Ltd. The function concluded with an eco-friendly planting of trees by the 19 winners.
Modern School has recently started a conservation legacy to save the environment, and students are actively participating in recycling, composting, organic gardening and other environmental issues to create awareness, including making the campus a no-plastic zone
