Nabha Power Limited added another feather in its cap; won energy efficiency awards

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) owned 1400 MW Nabha Power Limited (NPL), Rajpura, in Patiala district won two prestigious awards at the 21st National Award Ceremony for Excellence in Energy Management, hosted by CII,held recently.

Nabha Power Limited (NPL) was adjudged as the National Energy Leader 2020 for its progressive performance for the second consecutive year in Energy Management.

Nabha Power also received the Excellent Energy Efficiency Unit award for outstanding achievements in Energy Efficiency. The plant received this award for the fourth consecutive year.

“The CII awards are a testimony of L&T’s capabilities in building and operating world class infrastructure facilities”, said D. K. Sen, Sr. Vice President and Whole-time Director, L&T.

Nabha Power Limited (NPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of L&T Power Development Limited has been successfully operating a 2×700 MW supercritical thermal power plant at Rajpura in the state of Punjab since 2014. Efficient and reliable power from NPL forms the backbone of electricity supply to the state.

NPL remains on top of the merit order as it is the lowest cost thermal power producer in Punjab, operating at high Plant Load Factor (PLF), which is among the best in the power industry.
