V K Gupta sid that  on January 7 this year the union cabinet  had given its clearance to the UT administration’s proposal to handover the Chandigarh electricity department  to the lowest private bidder.  The  UT power  employees rejected the proposal  for transfer to a private   company  as their security of service, pay, pension  can not  be safeguarded  and they cannot be given   inferior conditions as per Electricity Act 2003.Moreover the standard bidding  documents issued in Sept 2020 has still not been approved by  ministry of power,he added.
