Night curfew violations in Patiala; administration fails to implement the orders

Due to spike in number of covid cases in Patiala, Deputy Commissioner Patiala, Kumar Amit had imposed night curfew in the district from 11 PM to 5 AM.
But it seems the administration has done this, just in papers. The night curfew orders are not implemented in true spirits.
The party goers are still enjoying the late-night parties and making the mockery of the deputy commissioner’s orders. Even the police fail to implement the orders, to check the violation, in the royal city.
Gagandeep, a home maker said “the sounds of music played by DJ, even after the restricted time is the proof of clear violations of the government orders. She said, residences of district administration, civil lines police station, Tripuri police station, model town police post, anaj mandi police station are in the heart of the city and still the general public hear the sounds, but they don’t”
Sonu, another resident said, “even yesterday at around 11.40 pm, fire crackers bursting sound, in clear violation of the DC’s order.”
A resident on the condition of the anonymity said, “a hotel of an influential businessman, on the minis sect road, organizes parties on the roof top, in the open of his hotel, till late in the evening. But nobody dares to book the hotel owner or its management even in the past, for violations.”
Another resident Kamaljit said,” the CM has restricted the indoor and outdoor gatherings. But it’s just a statement. The ground reality is different. Neither public nor administration are not adhering to these instructions.”
When contacted the sub divisional magistrate (SDM) Patiala Charanjeet Singh, he said “till now, we haven’t received any complaint, against any type of night curfew violations. When asked about the DJ playing , fire crackers bursting, till late night, he said I’ll ask the civil lines police station to keep a check on violations.”
