Today morning, Senior superintendent of police Barnala Sandip Goel , SP PBI Barnala Jagwinder Singh Cheema, DSP Barnala sub division Lakhvir Singh Tiwana, SI Babita Kumari of Railway protection force (RPF)  along with other two railway employees started their journey from Barnala towards Bathinda side, on rail trolley to check the railway track, after the Kissan unions lifted their dharna from railway track.

“While checking the railway track, suddenly some part, axel of the trolley broke down around Tapa station and the officers fall down” said an official of GRP.

The staff accompanying the officers, immediately rushed the SSP Barnala , SP PBI Jagwinder Singh Cheema to the civil hospital Barnala.

“At Barnala civil hospital, the doctor had done the required x-ray . No fracture at any part of the body is found. SP PBI Jagwinder Singh Cheema has complained about some weakness in the right leg. We have kept them under observation for 24 hours. till no complication is reported. The officers got bruises on their body” said the civil surgeon Barnala, Dr Sukhjiwan kakkar.

Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh, in a letter handed over to Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal personally by MPs, assured safety and security of railway property and personnel. Adhering to this the police , RPF, rail officials goes for a checking, when this incident occured.

Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal had said that “they are ready to resume train services if Captain Amarinder Singh-led government assured safety and security of railway property and personnel and clears the tracks.”
