Karachi- Twelve Indian fishermen stranded at sea for eight days after their boat developed a technical snag were provided medical and humanitarian aid by the Pakistan Navy, The Nation daily reported.

The fishermen were close to running out of food and water after their boat developed engine problems and Pakistani Navy responded to their call for help, the report said. The newspaper quoted a Pakistani Navy statement saying on on Sunday that its ship PNS Alamgir delivered the assistance to the Indian fishermen travelling on the ‘ST Mars’ boat.

The Pakistani Navy said the technical team of PNS Alamgir helped Indian fishermen to fix the faults in the boat’s engine. The fishermen thanked the Pakistani Navy for their help.
