As per civil surgeon Patiala, today, single day highest 248 new cases and 6 deaths were reported in Patiala district. Yesterday 152 cases were reported in Patiala district. Today 85 cured patients were discharged from covid care centres, hospitals in Patiala district and now total cured patients touched 1808 mark. Positive cases in Patiala go up to 2977 with todays new cases and active cases goes to 1115.

Out of these 248 cases, 122 reported from Patiala, 27 from Rajpura, 24 from nabha , 12 from Samana, 5 from Patran, 2 from sanour and rest 21 from different villages of the district. In Patiala district 76 cases were detected in contact tracing /31 from micro containment zones and rest 137 from flu corners with flu type symptoms.

Today six deaths were reported in Patiala district.

Including 12 police personnel, 7 pregnant mothers and two health workers.

According to Dr Malhotra, six Covid positive patients have died in the district today bringing the death toll from Covid positive patients in the district to 54. A 60-year-old man from village Kartarpur, tehsil Dudhansadha, who was suffering from hypertension, was admitted to Rajindra Hospital due to illness.The third is a 60-year-old resident of Baba Jeevan Singh Basti, Patiala who was a chronic diabetic and heart patient and was admitted to Rajindra Hospital. He was admitted to Rajindra Hospital after being admitted to a private hospital in Patiala.A 70-year-old resident of  Qila Chowk who was admitted to Rajindra Hospital due to respiratory problems, a 40-year-old resident of 6th village Choraso who underwent PGI due to chronic liver disease. He was admitted to Chandigarh and died today..

He said that in view of the high number of positive cases in the area, three more micro containment zones in the district including Markel Colony and MIG Flats (Urban Estate Phase I) of Patiala city and New Basti area of ​​Nabha have been set up today. With this the number of containments installed so far in the district has increased to 21. These include 20 micro containments and one large container.
