Patiala lost its another gem, poet

Famous poet and song writer Surjit Singh Gill alias Gill Surjit died today, at around 10: am at his residence, in Patiala.
Gill Surjit a famous lyricist came into limelight, after his song “Shehar Patiale de munddae Much Futt Gabhroo Nae Sohne” hit the Punjabi music industry in 1989.
He had written so many songs, sung by many famous Punjabi singers.
His son is in Australia and daughter is married at Shermajra village, near Patiala.
He was a recipient of four college colours of Govt Mohindra college from 1966- 70 in Bhangra, NCC under officer, Hockey .He also remained the secretary of students union.
His ancestral village falls in Moga district.
