Patiala no 1 in Punjab-credit goes to safaimitras, officials, staff of MC Patiala-Mayor

Royal city Patiala has been declared as number one city of Punjab under National Swachh Survekshan 2021. The result was declared today by the Union Housing and Urban Development Ministry.
Patiala has secured 11th position out of 4000 cities under Safaimitra ranking.It is indeed a proud moment for the residents of Patiala. Earlier Bathinda was at this position and Patiala was at 86th rank in 2020 and remained on second position in Punjab.
But this year due to a special campaign “Mera Kuda Meri Zimedari” was launched by Mayor Patiala Sanjeev Sharma Bittu. He cycled through the streets, colonies and different localities in order to create awareness amongst the people of the city.
He credited Patiala’s number one position in cleanliness to the Safai karamcharis of the municipal corporation, Patiala and former municipal corporation commissioner Poonamdeep Kaur along with the officials and residents of the city.
This year Patiala is on 58th rank out of the main cities of India. Patiala got 3713 points out of 6000 points . Residents of Patiala feedback played an important role. Out of 1800 points in citizens feedback Patiala got 1218 points.

Elaborating further ,mayor Sanjeev Sharma Bittu said, “ municipal corporation has placed dustbins at 37 different places, six material recovery centres (MRF) were established to differentiate the dry and wet garbage , 250 twin bin were installed, 6 compactors at five different places, 450 composite pits to made manure made from wet garbage , door-to-door dry-wet garbage differentiate campaign were launched which helped the municipal corporation Patiala to secure 58th rank and to improve its ranking over last year.”
