SSP Patiala Mandeep singh sidhu Informed that a person namely Abhishek Sehgal S/o Rajesh Sehgal R/O Police Station Kotwali Patiala (Age 26)  who Works at Smart chip company, DTO office,  Bassi Pathana Distt Fatehgarh Sahib has posted posts in vulgar language on Facebook and has used very objectionable language against various deities worshipped in the hindu religion .

The accused also has violated the curfew which is in place and has also spread rumours regarding Hindu religion.

SSP further said that  in this regard *FIR No 99 dated 28/04/2020 U/s 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 295A (is to punish deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage the religious feelings of any class by insulating its religion ),505C ( with intent to incite, or which is likely to incite, any class or community of persons to commit any offence against any other class or community) IPC, Section 54  The disaster management act 2005 ((Whoever makes or circulates a false alarm or warning as to disaster or its severity or magnitude, leading to panic) at PS Kotwali Patiala is registered against the above person.

He is arrested in this case and the mobile phone of accused is recovered.Further investigation is going on.

Earlier also one such case has been registered in PS Tripuri Patiala on 8th April when the accused had used vulgar language and posted objectionable posts regarding Islam religion.

Patiala police booked 26 years old for posting vulgar language on Facebook. Patiala Police stands by the fact that no Post which is objectionable to any religion and which may lead to communal flare up will be tolerated.

Patiala Police  advises all social media users of Patiala district to not post anything which hurts religious sentiments of any religion as well as not to spread any rumour regarding corona crisis as our CYBER CELL , SOCIAL MEDIA CELL  and CIA units are keeping a sharp eye on every activity on social media.Strict legal action will be taken in such cases.
