Notably, Gupta had earlier issued a strict warning to radical and mischievous elements in the society that the Punjab Police would adopt zero-tolerance against persons/organizations who are trying to incite communal hatred and fan communal passions through their speeches, statements, writings, posts on social media platforms etc. A case in this connection has been registered earlier by Amritsar (Rural) Police and arrested local Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri.
