PGIMS fails to diagnose Ram Rahim; admitted in private hospital; Honeypreet gets attendant card

Dera Sacha Sauda sect chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim  on Sunday tested COVID-19 positive. Initially, Ram Rahim was taken to Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Rohtak, after he complained of health issues. But he was sent to Medanta hospital, Gurugram ,after he tested positive. The self-styled godman reached the hospital at around 10 am with heavy police security from Sunaria jail, after he complained of a stomach infection.

A jail official said that the convict was shifted to Medanta Hospital after the medical board permitted the same, as the additional tests were not available at PGIMS, they had recommended that he be taken either to Gurgaon or New Delhi to undergo further tests to diagnose his health issues..

He was admitted to the hospital at around 4 pm on the same day. Before admitting him to the hospital, the hospital staff conducted the mandatory COVID-19 test on Ram Rahim and he tested positive. He was then admitted to the COVID-19 ward of the hospital.

Honeypreet also reached to know the condition of Ram Rahim at 8.30 am at Medanta hospital. She has made her card as Ram Rahim’s attendant. Honeypreet can go to Ram Rahim’s room every day to meet him. Honeypreet has been given an attendant’s card to take care of Ram Rahim till June 15.

It was for the fourth time in a span of 26 days that he has been taken out of the jail, thrice on medical grounds and once for meeting his ailing mother.

Ram Rahim was convicted in cases of rape and murder, by CBI Panchkula court for 20 years of imprisonment for raping two women. In January 2019, he and three other persons were sentenced to life imprisonment over charges of murder.
