Profound resentment against MC Patiala among Ajit Nagar and nearby colony residents

One of Royal city posh locality, Ajit Nagar and other nearby colony residents held a meeting, highlighting the several negligence’s, on the part of the local Municipal Corporation (MC), Patiala.

The major concern raised was the inferior interlocking tiles put on the sides of the roads in these colonies by the Municipal Corporation, Patiala. It is alleged that a terrible work of putting interlocking tiles has been carried out by the Municipal Corporation in these localities. An interesting aspect has come to light that a lot of area residents have started spending money from their own pockets to mount interlocking tiles in front of their houses as the workers from the Corporation have left the work in between due to which the people are suffering extremely living in these colonies. There is a lot of resentment among the residents on this issue.

The other issue raised by the residents is the dog menace and there is a huge terror among the residents regarding the hundreds of stray animals loitering on the roads. Every day the incidents of dog biting have been reported in the area. However, it has been found that the Municipal Corporation, Patiala has no solution to this problem.

Prof. Pankaj Mohindru, one of the learned representatives and resident of Ajit Nagar Patiala told the press that he has many times complained to the municipal corporation employees, including Amitoj, a junior engineer and Sham Lal Gupta, superintending engineer about the interlocking tiles and substandard work carried out in the colonies but nothing has been done in this regard by the Municipal Corporation, Patiala.

Senior Advocate, K. K Vohra who is also another inhabitant of Ajit Nagar colony said that the representative of the locality had requested the concerned authorities to redress all these grievances at the earliest failing which Municipal Corporation will be held responsible for it. He added to his statement in the end, that substandard work is ascertaining to be a waste of government funds.

The other prominent occupants who were present in the meeting were Balwinder Singh Bhasin, Narinder Pal Singh, Jaspal Singh, Gautam Sharma, Harman etc. and highlighted the apathetic attitude of the local MC, towards their ward.

When contacted the MC Patiala junior engineer Amitoj,  about the profound resentment against MC Patiala among Ajit Nagar and nearby colony residents, he said ” i’ll look into it and send the supervisor to look into the matter. I’ll also ask the contractor about it.”
