PSEB Engineers association condemned PSPCL management stance on its own employees

PSEB Engineers Association strongly condemned the decision of the Board of Directors of PSPCL taken in their 82nd meeting held on 10.7.20 to not allot any house in GNDTP colony to its own employees and engineers but has essentially handed over the colony to the Punjab Government by ignoring the house allotment committee and shifting the allocation to the Punjab Government.
Er. Jasvir Singh Dhiman, President of the Association informed that this decision is against the interests of PSPCL, where facility constructed through PSPCL funds will not be used for PSPCL employees, further PSPCL will lose about Rs. 1 crore as rent income from the employees of PSPCL and in addition will have to pay House rent allowance to employees.
Er. Jasvir Singh Dhiman alleged that this loss to PSPCL is being done deliberately to keep these houses vacant so that these can be handed over to the district administration at later stage. The BOD has originally decided to retain the houses in thermal colony for use by PSPCL/ PSTCL but now has essentially handed over the colony to the Punjab Government ignoring the interest of the corporation and its employees.
Further it is pertinent to mention here that while PSPCL is wasting crores of assets through such acts, it is withholding the genuine allowances of its employees like the reimbursement of mobile set cost etc. It was further stated that with this decision, the extra expenditure incurred by PSPCL will be borne by the consumers of Punjab in the shape of higher tariff. PSEB engineers Association while strongly deploring this move, demanded that this decision be reversed immediately.
